Affordable Memories for Everyone

After a somewhat long break from photography, I have started booking sessions for 2016.  Why the break?  The answer is simple: I needed to regroup and find my passion again.  I needed to get excited about what I was doing.

I have to make a confession.... When my demand got higher and my rates increased a bit, accordingly, I found myself losing my passion.  It wasn't that I desired to raise rates but that the content requested changed, forcing it to be so.  Instead of just CDs/flash drives, prints were being requested.  I found myself having to do "sales" work as people requested detailed descriptions of the products offered. I was good at it but I don't enjoy it. I found myself having to work more on the paperwork and such than on what I love to do.....photography.

So I took a break...a  long break.  I started really focusing on and thinking of what makes me tick.  I started thinking about what I wanted from my business and what I wanted both for my clients and myself.  Here's the conclusions:

I'm going back to $50 30-minute photo shoots (up to 6 people) within 10 miles of my home or $75 30-minute photo shoots (up to 6 people) within 25 miles of my home. While I understand the concept of how inexpensive sessions can be a pain for other photographers (and I speak from both sides of the experience on this one), my purpose in starting over a decade ago was to bring portrait photography to everyone and give everyone a chance to have affordable memories.  Editing is something I can do from the comfort of my home; therefore, I don't feel the need to be paid exorbitant amounts of money to do so.

I will be happy to order prints for you but will only be doing them at cost and upon request (there won't be packages for this).  However, the reality is that CDs or flash drives are far more convenient.

I will not be providing reprint copyright for only a certain portion.  My goal, as I said, was to let everyone have access to their memories.  I will be providing reprint copyright for the entire disc (flash drive) for you to share your memories.

While I'm already booking up quickly, I am being careful to make certain that my family is my priority and, thus, limiting how many sessions I'm doing on the weekends.  Please feel free to email me at heatherleephotographyco@gmail.com if you would like to book a session!
